IMAGINE NOW VETERANS HYPERBARIC OXYGEN TREATMENT CENTER PLANS MAJOR FUND RAISER AT INSPIRE THEATER OCTOBER 8 2016
Join Imagine NOW at the Inspire Theater October 8 2016 for a gala presentation on hyperbaric oxygen therapy and fund raiser for Imagine NOW Veteran Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Center coming to Las Vegas to treat Veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress. This amazing technology restores the lives of Veterans, athletes, police and firefighters and their families and is a game-changer in the fight against the epidemic of Veteran depression, homelessness and suicide caused by the scourge of untreated traumatic brain injury.
More than 300,000 Veterans – nearly one in 5 serving since 9/11/2001 – suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Often referred to as the signature wounds of the war on terror, Veterans with these injuries suffer from unbearable headaches, dizziness, depression, nightmares, and violent mood swings and are a leading cause of high suicide rates among Veterans, currently at 22 a day.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), widely used to treat a variety of injuries and diseases, has been shown to “permanently curtail TBI and PTSD symptoms, returning Veterans to a more normalized life” according to Dr. Paul Harch, perhaps the nation’s leading TBI and PTSD researcher and clinician. Dr. Harch published the first case of HBOT benefiting veterans with TBI and PTSD in 2009 and subsequently he and others published confirmatory evidence in 2012 in the prestigious peer-reviewed Journal of Neurotrauma (http://www.liebertonline.com/doi/abs/10.1089/neu.2011.1895).
The effects of the TBI/PTSD epidemic will linger for years if not confronted. The good news is that hyperbaric oxygen treatment has been shown effective for treating TBI and PTSD dating back decades, Vietnam Veterans having been effectively treated and returned to normal function.
President of Henderson and Nevada Blue Star Mothers organization and a Blue Star Mother herself, Chere Pederson and Las Vegas Veteran advocate Janet Franco, founder of the Pay it Forward Network International and Barry Meuse, Air Force combat fighter pilot and Veteran advocate, have combined to bring hyperbaric oxygen therapy to Las Vegas-area Veterans.
See them at the Inspire Theater October 8 and hear from Veterans who have been treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy and are now leading productive lives. Enter a hyperbaric chamber and be part of the future to bring the Imagine NOW Veteran Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Center to Las Vegas.
The planned Imagine N.O.W. Hyperbaric Treatment Center of Las Vegas will provide care to thousands of Las Vegas and Nevada Veterans who suffer daily from the devastating effects of TBI and PTSD. It will operate in cooperation with other Las Vegas and Nevada-based Veteran advocates such as the Blue Star Mothers, the Concerned Veterans of America, the Veteran Village of Las Vegas, the local chapter of the Disabled Veterans of America (DVA) and many others.
The new Imagine NOW Center will treat Veterans under a research protocol to advance the science and include other supporting cognitive and physical therapies to raise cognitive skills as well as providing job-training opportunities to help Veterans treated at the Center return to the work place as productive citizens of the community.
